https://ejurnal.stikassantoyohanessalib.ac.id/index.php/juftek/article/view/229

This article explores the relevance of Thomas Aquinas’ concept of bonum commune (the common good) in shaping a Christian leadership paradigm amid the global and national leadership crisis, particularly in Indonesia. The phenomena of corruption, abuse of power, and weak moral orientation indicate the absence of the common good as the guiding principle in contemporary political practices. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes Aquinas’ thought, the Scriptures, Catholic social teaching, and modern literature on theology and political philosophy. The findings reveal that bonum commune serves as a fundamental principle that integrates moral, spiritual, and social dimensions of leadership. Within the Christian perspective, the principles of service, justice, love, and participation find their philosophical and theological foundation, with Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd as their ultimate model. This article emphasizes that Christian leadership rooted in bonum commune is not about domination but about servant leadership oriented toward the common good, social justice, and human dignity. A reinterpretation of Aquinas’ thought in the modern context highlights the need to understand bonum commune through dialogue, participation, and respect for pluralism. Therefore, Christian leadership in the light of bonum commune remains relevant as an alternative paradigm for building a more just, transparent, participatory, and humane society
Aluysius Hendra WijayaLaurentius Prasetyo

https://ejurnal.stikassantoyohanessalib.ac.id/index.php/juftek/article/view/319

The document Apostolicam Actuositatem is a magisterial teaching issued by the Roman Catholic Church that addresses the apostolate of the laity. The present study responds to the contemporary issue of youth skepticism and apathy toward politics, government, and social engagement. The research subjects consisted of 34 members of Pemuda Katolik Komisariat Cabang Kota Semarang as respondents and six organizational board members as key informants. This study employed a mixed-method explanatory approach. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires using a quota sampling technique, while qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with six informants. The quantitative findings indicate that the internalization of Apostolicam Actuositatem influences apostolic motivation by 48%. The level of apostolic motivation among members in promoting the Pemuda Katolik Komisariat Cabang Semarang organization reached 68.2%. Furthermore, the internalization of Apostolicam Actuositatem toward the implementation of lay apostolate principles was measured at 48.4%. Qualitative findings from informants (N1–N6) reveal that members’ motivation in understanding Apostolicam Actuositatem is primarily driven by an inner calling, even among those who were previously unfamiliar with the document; this aligns with Article 1 of Apostolicam Actuositatem. Members’ efforts to promote the Pemuda Katolik Organization, both through internal organizational activities and initiatives outside the Church, correspond to Article 30. Moreover, the application of the principles of Apostolicam Actuositatem is implemented at every level of cadre formation within the Pemuda Katolik Organization of Komisariat Cabang Kota Semarang namely Mapenta, KKD, KKM, and KKL—in accordance with Article 22.
Gabriel Aldo NagamaYustinus J.W. https://ejurnal.stikassantoyohanessalib.ac.id/index.php/juftek/article/view/337

This study aims to analyze the existence of the Manggarai-Flores mother tongue amidst the tide of modernity using Ludwig Wittgenstein’s philosophy of language. The mother tongue is understood not only as a tool for communication but also as a medium for shaping meaning, identity, and the sociocultural practices of a community. The research method employed is a qualitative approach using a literature review, examining various works related to the philosophy of language, mother tongues, and the Manggarai language. The findings indicate that the Manggarai language serves a complex function as a living system of meaning embedded in the daily practices of the community. From Wittgenstein’s perspective, the meaning of language is determined by its use within the context of everyday life (language games). This is evident in Manggarai cultural practices such as traditional rituals, oral literature, and daily communication, which are rich in social and cultural values. However, technological advancements and the dominance of national and global languages have led to a shift in the use of the mother tongue, particularly among the younger generation. Thus, the Manggarai language faces not only the threat of linguistic extinction but also the potential loss of cultural identity. Therefore, the preservation of mother tongues must be achieved through their integration into education, the strengthening of cultural literacy, and the revitalization of language use in the social life of the community.
Felix Riondi SugarLiberius Febri NaroMarselinus LanggorFalentinus CarlesAdelberto Wili BokoIluminata Fatreimin AdurArnoldus Roy Alfander

https://ejurnal.stikassantoyohanessalib.ac.id/index.php/juftek/article/view/328

Aluysius Hendra WijayaLaurentius Prasetyo

https://ejurnal.stikassantoyohanessalib.ac.id/index.php/juftek/article/view/307

The expression “I am” (egō eimi) constitutes one of the most distinctive and theologically significant elements in the Gospel of John and plays a central role in the revelation of Jesus’ identity. Far from functioning merely as a linguistic marker of self-identification, this expression serves as a medium of self-revelation through which Jesus discloses His relationship with God and the salvific meaning of His mission for humanity. This study aims to examine the theological significance of the “I am” sayings in the Gospel of John by exploring their biblical context, their roots in Old Testament tradition, and their christological and soteriological implications. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, this study applies an exegetical–theological method to the Johannine text, supported by relevant biblical-theological and exegetical literature. The findings indicate that the “I am” sayings with predicates portray Jesus’ role in the work of salvation through symbolic and relational language, while the absolute (without predicate) “I am” sayings explicitly affirm Jesus’ divine identity by echoing the revelation of the divine name in the Old Testament tradition. Consequently, the Gospel of John presents a high-level Christology that situates Jesus as the center of divine revelation and the source of salvation. This study affirms that the “I am” sayings carry not only doctrinal significance but also existential implications, inviting a response of faith and a lived relationship with Christ in the contemporary life of believers.
Yanto Sandy TjangLaurentius Prasetyo
