Abstract

Penderitaan adalah bagian dari hidup manusia. Manusia berusaha memahami  mengapa  ada penderitaan  dan  bagaimana harus menyikapinya. Kebijaksanaan Israel kuno berusaha memahami misteri penderitaan itu, salah satunya adalah Kitab Ayub. Melalui studi pustaka, artikel ini menyelidiki jawaban Kitab Ayub terhadap persoalan penderitaan manusia dan bagaimana manusia menjalani hidupnya (moralitas) tatkala penderitaan menimpanya.
