Fokus penelitian yaitu memahami sifat adikodrati rahmat bagi hidup konkret orang Katolik. Adapun tujuan penelitian untuk memperoleh pemahaman agar rahmat yang adikodrati bukan dinilai sebagai realitas di luar hidup konkret tetapi nyata dapat dialami. Penelusuran literatur digunakan untuk mengali pemahaman akan rahmat dalam gagasan Karl Rahner. Gagasan rahmat dalam sejarah teologi Katolik terlalu menampilkan sifat metafisis alih-alih realitas konkret dalamjiwa manusia. Pendasaran perkembangan gagasan filsafat Rahnerian menjadi suatu terobosan bagiteologi rahmat Katolik. Panorama karya-karya filosofis dan teologis Rahnerian diuraikan untuk memahami bahwa realitas antropologi modern membuka suatu cakrawala baru penghayatan iman secara khusus integrasi dimensi kodrat dan adikodrati manusia. Kebaruan penelitian menampilkangagasan menterjemahkan rahmat ke dalam hidup konkret.
